WINCHESTER, Ore. -- Umpqua Community College has started a new collection.
It's called the Erath Special Collection and Reserve.
It's a compilation of books and journals that focus on wine and the science behind it.
Officials say that it will be a valuable resource for students, but it's not just for those taking classes. Chris Lake of the Southern Oregon Wine Institute says, "It not only helps students that are here, but it helps the industry members that are working in this industry field. So, we all need to stay up on what the current research in growing grapes and making wine."
The collection was made possible through donations from the Erath Foundation, the UCC Foundation and the Fred W. Fields fund.
