UVC Students give back to the community

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Umpqua Valley Christian School students spent the day Friday beautifying a local arts center.

The Umpqua Valley Arts Association got a much needed makeover.

About a dozen students planted the flower beds and constructed a small walking path near the northern entrance.

Some of the kids told KPIC News that they were glad they could spend the day giving back. Christian Logerstedt, a UVC Senior, said, "UVC has been really supported by the community over the past 30 years. They have given us the opportunity to use their facilities, our community here in Roseburg. So, this is a great way for us to say 'Thank you for what you've done over the past 30 years'."

The UVAA campus was just one project students were working on. Kids from UVC spent the day working at Salvation Army, Legion Field and other places as well.
