DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. -- If you've always wanted to hit the snow but you're not too confident on your own two skiis yet, this weekend is your chance to get a little help.
The Edelweiss Ski Club is holding a 'Learn to Ski Day.'
Club officials say it's a fun, family friendly way to learn how to handle yourself on a set of skis. "A lot of times in the wintertime its rainy and stuff, and it's kind of hard to get out," said Larry Filosi, the president of the organization. "Again, the cost isn't too much once you have your equipment."
Participants will get a quick lesson on cross country skiing and then the group will hit the trails.
The day is free and open to anyone.
The fun kicks off at 10:00 a.m. on Diamond Lake's northern exposure trails.
