Woman drives car through storage unit

WINCHESTER, Ore. -- An elderly woman was shaken up Thursday, when for an unknown reason, she drove completely through a storage unit in Winchester.

Witnesses at the scene told KPIC News that the woman had stopped outside of a storage unit at Umpqua Mini Storage on Weyerhaeuser Drive just before noon Thursday, and for an unknown reason drove completely through a unit.

The car came to rest in a ditch behind the building, and EMT's responded to check her out.

The woman, who has not been identified, was released at the scene.

A Douglas County Sheriff's deputy also responded to assist.

No estimate yet on the total amount of damage to the vehicle or building.
