COOS BAY, Ore. -- Officials with the Coast Guard have released the names of the people who were on board a boat that ran aground Sunday night near Coos Bay.

Petty Officer Third Class Nate Littlejohn says the woman who died in the incident was identified as Vera-Jeane Saltzman, 50.

The two men on the boat who were rescued early Monday were identified as Dan Campbell, 53, of Roseburg, and Bruce Geddie, 50, of Reedsport.

According to the men, they were fishing on a 30 foot wood vessel named “Ruth,” when they hit a rouge wave Sunday night.

The Coast Guard located and hoisted the men up at 7:12 am Monday and took them to Bay Area Hospital.

Littlejohn says one man appeared to have injuries.

He says that Saltzman was not able to climb up the rocks, and she was not wearing a survival suit or life jacket.

Her body was recovered on Tuesday.
