Former North River Boats owner sentenced for murder
SOUTH BEND, Wash. -- The former owner of North River Boats in the Green District has been sentenced to more than 88 years in prison for the murder of his former girlfriend.
The Chinook Observer reports that Brian Brush, 49, will spend the rest of his life behind bars, although appeals could still happen.
He was convicted of murdering Lisa Bonney of Long Beach, Washington, with a shotgun on September 11, 2009 on a crowded beach.

Barring a successful appeal, this 88-year-plus sentence means the 49-year-old former policeman will spend the rest of his life behind bars.
The sentence was handed down by Superior Court Judge Michael Sullivan after about two hours of emotional victim-impact testimony by Bonney’s two daughters and other family members.
Sullivan denied a defense motion for a new trial in the case that has stretched out since Bonney’s shooting death.
