Board investigates Roseburg chiropractor
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Roseburg chiropractor is in hot water for allegedly having inappropriate contact with female patients, but he says he's innocent.
Doctor Donald Reneau didn't want to talk on camera, but he told KPIC News that he denies the allegations against him.
Reneau says the charges came as a surprise, because he says he's done nothing wrong.
The state Board of Chiropractic Examiners have been investigating Dr. Reneau for inappropriate contact with four patients, an allegation the board says it takes very seriously.
Dave McTeague, the executive director of the board, says due to the impact of alleged violations to patients, they must take each complaint very seriously. "The board has really been grappling with issues of professional boundaries," said McTeague. "So, the board has seen the damage that it can cause to patients."
The board proposed a two-year suspension for Dr. Reneau, which the doctor says he will appeal.
The next step is a contested case hearing, where an administrative law judge will decide Reneau's fate.
Until that time, the doctor is allowed to continue practicing medicine.
My wife and I have gone to Dr. Reneau for some time now as has my in-laws. I have never heard either my wife or her mother say anything derogatory ever about him. I personally have never heard or seen anything but caring professionalism out of Dr. Reneau toward his staff or patients. Me thinks some people have nothing better to do than cause problems for others. Just saying. What a crock.

Has anyone considered the damage done to a spotless reputation when charges are made based on the flimsiest of accusations? This kind of witch hunt has already driven one chiropractor out of business, and I'm wondering if these women came forward with their complaints or was there a search made looking for something to justify their government job? I've been a patient from time to time, along with my late husband, since 2000 and I have never, ever seen or experienced anything like these baseless accusations. Dr, Reneau is one of the most caring, compassionate healers I've ever known.
Honestly I have gone to Dr. Reneau in the past, never have I ever had a problem with his services. I'm surprised by this and hope it is found to be untrue. Remember innocent until proven guilty.
they all claim they are innocent
