Police say severed foot sent to party office
OTTAWA, Ontario (AP) - Police say a severed human foot was mailed to the headquarters of Canada's ruling Conservative party.
Ottawa police said in a statement on Tuesday that a box containing a human foot was delivered by Canada Post on Tuesday.
Police were called shortly by someone at the party offices reporting a suspicious package. The first officers to arrive saw what appeared to be blood stains on the package and immediately called in a special hazardous-material unit.
Police say the coroner later determined that it was, in fact, a severed human foot in the box.
Police in Montreal investigating a torso found in a trash bin were checking on whether there might be a link.
