EUGENE, OR - The Ducks held their second scrimmage of spring this morning inside Autzen Stadium. Outside Autzen Stadium, the media gathered to get a response from new head coach Mark Helfrich, concerning the latest report detailing the football program's possible "major" recruiting violations.
"I think it was contained within the statement of we have been, are and will be 100 percent committed to compliance and along with that we are committed to this process and respecting that process," said Helfrich. "We'll comment on that when we're allowed to."
As for the players, sophomore quarterback Marcus Mariota took his typical approach to the questions about the report from KVAL's sister station KATU in Portland which sites that the University of Oregon and the NCAA agree that major violations were committed in recruiting.
"It's outside our control," said Mariota. "When we find out the full extent of it, then we'll go from there, but honestly my main focus today was going out there and practicing."
Now, we all just continue to do what we've been doing for the last two years, wait to see what happens next.
The school will argue its case in front of the NCAA infractions committee sometime this spring.
