EUGENE, Ore.-- The Eugene Emeralds 9th inning rally came up short as the Everett Aquasox avoided the sweep 4-2 behind a strong outing from Victor Sanchez.
Sanchez didn't give up a hit until the 6th inning. He finished with five strikeouts, two hits and two earned runs in eight innings of work.
The Ems were down 4-0 heading into the bottom of the 9th, when Ronnie Richardson scored on a bases loaded walk. They added another run when Corey Adamson scored on a fielder's choice ground out. But Eugene's comeback came up short as Grady Wood picked up his second save of the season.
The Ems begin a three game series against the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes tomorrow at 7:05 PM.
