Oregon lacrosse to host Navy in NCAA play-in match

EUGENE, Ore. -- An historic season for the Oregon lacrosse team keeps getting better, after winning its first ever Mountain Pacific Sports Federation tournament.
The Ducks beat Stanford 13-10 last Saturday to claim the conference title.
"Towards the beginning of the year, we made a decision that we were going to take it," said goal keeper Caroline Federighi who was the MPSF Tournament MVP. "We were going to win, and we were going to work hard. Yea we expected it, and I'm glad we came through."
Now Oregon will host Navy in a play-in match to the NCAA tournament on Saturday at 1 PM at Pape Field.
"Going into the season we had really high expectations," said Nikki Puszcz, who leads the Ducks with 37 goals this season. "We knew we had a really good group of girls, and if any year we were going to win, this was the year."
This is the most successful season during Oregon's eight-year history.
