Richards-Ross and Felix set for 3rd Olympic Trials

EUGENE, Ore.-- The biggest names in track and field are now gathered in Eugene, trying to make their Olympic dreams come true over the next couple of weeks.

And even for the likes of Sanya Richards-Ross and Allyson Felix, who are making their third Olympic Trails appearances, emotions are still high.

"The youngsters are going to be nervous because I remember my first Olympic Trials," said Richards-Ross. "It was overwhelming, especially in Eugene. It's really an event. It's not just another national championships, it's a real event. So it can be a little bit overwhelming, but I think I'll be able to handle it with poise."

"I think the energy and the buzz around trials is fun," said Felix. It makes you want to put on a great performance. At the same time I'm always very focused, and I know what I need to do to get it done."

On the men's side, the 2004 100 Meter gold medalist, Justin Gatlin, is back on the scene and ready to make a run, after serving a four year ban for testing positive for a banned substance.

"Where I am going into the Olympics, making this team, knock on wood, I can say that I'm victorious," said Gatlin. "I'm happy to be back."
