Riddle wrestler headed for SOU

A local wrestler will compete next season for Southern Oregon University in Ashland.

Riddle senior Jacob Jeffries signed a letter-of-intent with the NAIA school on Tuesday.

In 2012, the heavyweight finished second (285lb) at the OSAA state championships in Portland.

"Jacob is a quality person and the type of talent we love to recruit," SOU head coach Mike Ritchey said. "We feel he will be a 'huge presence' for us in the near future, no pun intended."

Jeffries becomes the fourth Douglas County wrestler on the Raiders roster along with Mitchell Lofstedt (Roseburg HS); Tyler Lander (Roseburg HS); and Trinity Castner (Douglas HS).
