State run ends for Roseburg tennis

The Roseburg doubles team of Sam Stadter and C.J. Ball dropped its quarterfinal match at the OSAA Class 6A Tennis State Championships Friday in Portland.

Stadter and Ball, ranked second, were eliminated by Sunset's Mitch Yannello and Ryan Chin 7-6, 6-0. 

Teammates Nate Hansen and Nick Foley upended Forest Grove's Nathan Tanous and Everado Medinaake 6-3, 6-1 on Thursday, but were sent home after losing to the #6 seed from Central Catholic.  

On the girls' side, senior Radhe Allen and sophomore Fiona Johnson won their opening round match before being eliminated by Barlow's Becky Sheller and Alex Kelsey 6-2, 6-1.

The championships run through Saturday at the Tualatin Hills Tennis Center in Beaverton and the Portland Tennis Center.
