Auburn is brash and confident. Why shouldn't they be?

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - They stroll into town with a brash, confident, almost cocky style.

The Auburn Tigers and Cam Newton look, sound and act like they are from the SEC, and why shouldn't they be? The Tigers led what has historically been the nations' best football conference in scoring, rushing and turnover margin.

Offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn believes Oregon's defense is a force with which to be reckoned.

"They are going to blitz, they make no secret about it. You have to be able to pick it up and be able to deal with it," Malzahn said. "They are a very aggressive defense which really fits their overall philosophy on offense."

The Oregon defense has spent the last month watching video highlights of the Auburn QB and the offensive lineman that make space for him up front.

Cam Newton and the Tigers be stopped? That's the $64,000 question.

Oregon's defensive coordinator Nick Aliotti offered this. "All I can tell you is, our guys will be ready to play. What that translates into on Monday night? I wish I had a crystal ball. I don't have a crystal ball."
