Ducks suspend Harris for driving violations

EUGENE, Ore. -- The Oregon Ducks football team has suspended star cornerback Cliff Harris pending an investigation into driving violations, Coach Chip Kelly said Monday.
In a statement, Kelly said the suspension is a "complete prohibition from all football activities until the matter is resolved."
Eugene police pulled over Harris earlier on Monday afternoon, and cited him for driving without a seatbelt, driving on a suspended license and driving without insurance.
Jenna McCulley, a Eugene Police Department spokeswoman, said Harris was pulled over near a McDonald's at Hilyard and Broadway in Eugene because he wasn't wearing a seatbelt. The car he was driving was later impounded.
In June, Harris was cited by Oregon State Police for driving 118 miles per hour down Interstate 5 without a valid driver's license. The posted speed limit was 65. Coach Chip Kelly suspended Harris following the incident.
