EUGENE, Ore. -- The University of Oregon Ducks swept the University of Washington Huskies in a three-game series. The Ducks won the third game of the series 4-3 with a walk-off homerun by Kailee Cuico that brought in two runs. This was Cuico’s 40th career homerun as a senior.

The first game of the series against the Huskies was rescheduled from Friday afternoon to Saturday morning due to rain. The teams played a doubleheader on Saturday, with one rain delay in the first game. The Ducks won 8-0 in fifth inning against the Huskies, with the eight-run rule. 

In the second game of the doubleheader, Oregon Ducks sophomore pitcher Cheridan Hawkins threw her second shutout of the day. The Ducks won the second game of the series 4-0.

In the third game the score was tied 2-2 until the fifth inning, when the Huskies scored a run. The game ended in a dramatic finish with Cuico’s walk-off homerun.

The Ducks will host UC Santa Barbara Tuesday April 1, in a doubleheader. The first game starts at 3pm.
