The Umpqua Riverhawks overcame a 16-point first half deficit and beat Lane 86-80 during an NWAACC womens basketball game Wednesday night at Umpqua Community College in Winchester. With the victory, the top-ranked Riverhawks (26-2, 13-1) captured the Southern Region championship, while the #2 ranked Titans (23-5, 12-2) finished in second place.

UCC's Kristi Fallin had a big night with 37 points, including six three-pointers. The sophomore sharpshooter also became the school's all-time leader with 103 three-pointers in a single season. Fallin also holds the all-time career mark with 193.

The Umpqua men ended the 2008-09 season with an impressive 88-67 win over Lane Community College. Kyle Kromminga hit eight three-pointers on his way to a 35 point night and teammate Anthony Atherton added 17 points for the Riverhawks.

Umpqua ended the season 6-21 overall and 2-12 in the Southern Region.
