CCA boys tennis team opens 2009 season

It took a while, but the Canyonville Christian Academy's boys tennis team finally hit the court for its first match of the 2009 season. The rainy weather caused a number of matches to be canceled, but the Pilots would eventually make their debut last Friday at Philomath.

The Warriors beat CCA 6-2, but there were a couple of bright spots for the Pilots as #2
Brandon Kruk and #4 Jordan Nguyen both won their singles matches. 

Singles
1) Carlos Donoso (PHS) def. Tim Chen (CCA) 6-0, 6-1
2) Brandon Kruk (CCA) def. Walker Maddalozzo (PHS) 6-2, 2-6, 6-1
3) Austin Haslam (PHS) def. Loc Nguyen (CCA) 6-1, 6-2
4) Jordan Nguyen (CCA) def. Aaron Burrow (PHS) 2-6, 6-2, 6-4

Doubles
1) Charlie Simonds/Morgan Foster (PHS) def. Dilshod Madiev/Paul Lin 6-2, 6-1
2) Devan Stucki/Jacob Erickson (PHS) def. Hyunil Yoo/Tuan Hoang 6-1, 6-1
3) and 4) doubles were both 6-0, 6-0

Both teams will meet again April 15 in Philomath.
