ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Roseburg enters the OSAA 6A girls soccer State Championships as the conference's number two representative after the Indians lost to Sheldon 1-0 in a league playoff Tuesday night at Finlay Field.

Late in the first half, Hannah Russo broke away and got a good look at the goal but her shot bounced just off of the right post and the first half ended with no score.

The Irish scored the lone goal of the game in the second half on a breakaway in the 69th minute.

"The girls came out a little too excited, but finally settled down after about 15 minutes," Roseburg head coach Adam Blue said. "Sheldon dominated the first half and we dominated the second half, but we just weren't able to score."

The Indians host a first-round playoff against Sandy on Saturday, November 7. Time has yet to be determined.
