Three local football teams continue their march toward the ultimate prize of a 2009 state championship. Roseburg and Sutherlin play second-round games on Friday night, while Douglas hosts an afternoon contest on Saturday.

The seventh-ranked Indians (8-2) travel to number five West Salem for a 6A matchup with the Titans. Roseburg is coming off a 47-8 victory over Barlow in an opening round state playoff game last Friday.

4A Sutherlin (4-5) opens postseason action on Friday against Henley. The Hornets (5-5) are the number two team out of the Skyline Conference.

Fourth-ranked Douglas is back in action on Saturday after a two-week hiatus. The Trojans (10-0) had a first-round bye and will host Sweet Home (8-3) in a 1:00PM game at Roseburg's Finlay Field.

"I would love to have a home game, but our facility is not set up for this time of year," Douglas head coach Joe Polamalu said. "Roseburg has given us a great opportunity and the kids are excited to play on the turf."
