SUTHERLIN, Ore. -- Sixth-ranked Ontario scored 28 unanswered points and beat Sutherlin 35-16 in an OSAA 4A state quarterfinal football game Saturday afternoon at Sutherlin High School.

The Tigers (10-1) had an 7-0 lead midway through the second quarter when Bulldogs' quarterback Chris Mock threw a 34 yard touchdown pass to Kyle Jaukkuri. Sutherlin then took the lead thanks to a successful two-point conversion.

Ontario got the lead back with less than 30 seconds to go in the first half on a 13 yard TD pass from Josh Mejia to Jordan Lang and went into the break with a 14-8 advantage.

Matt Anthony scored two of the Tigers three second half touchdowns, including a 55 yard score on a screen pass that gave the Greater Oregon League champions a commanding 35-8 lead.

Next up, Ontario plays a semifinal game with top-ranked Marist.

With the loss, Sutherlin finished the season with a record of 5-6.
