EUGENE, Ore. - While Oregon might still be slotted at 2 for the AP Poll, Autzen Stadium led the pack in a round up of the 5 best college football stadiums.
The list published by USA Today selected their five most awe-inspiring stadiums on size, noise, history and aesthetics. While it may be a subjective look at the best football fields, the paper gave their reasoning behind the schools in the unranked list.
"Any time you talk about a list of the greatest college stadiums, Autzen's going to be included. We'll always be on that list," said Oregon's Athletic Director Craig Pintens.
Whether you think it has an effect on a visiting team or not, home field advantage is definitely heard at Autzen.
Fans make home games some of the loudest played in college football, while pushing the official capacity of 54,000 to the limit with consistently sold-out games.
By adding two waterfalls and scores of plants and trees around the perimeter, the north slope outside Autzen Stadium looks like a Northwest forest.
Also included in USA Today's list of the top 5 college football stadiums were Texas A&M's Kyle Field, LSU's Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska.
The University of Washington's Husky Stadium also made the list, boasting a 72,500 capacity and grand views of Lake Washington.
The Huskies host the Ducks at the historic Seattle stadium this weekend.
