2012 American Legion baseball rosters released

The 2012 rosters have been selected for Roseburg's three American Legion baseball teams.

A total of 52 players make up the local teams which include triple-A Dr. Stewart's and single-A Pepsi and Premier Insurance.

The Docs are led by OIT freshman and former Douglas High standout Tyson Dahl with the remainder of the roster consisting of 17 high school athtletes. Roseburg's David Irvine, Boog Leach, Kody Matthews, Mike Morin and Connor Newell; Sutherlin's Joey Bell, Damion Henderson and Taler Jensen; South Umpqua's Tyler Blansett and DJ McKenna; pitcher Brian Middleton of Douglas; Camas Valley's Ryan Dancer; Brenden Fricke of Glide; Elkton's Noah Miller; Days Creek pitcher Devin Muir; Austin Potter of North Douglas; and Oakland's Travis Sherman.

Scott Shaver is back as the head coach of Dr. Stewart's along with assistant coaches Troy Thompson, Richie Charles and Tom Nielson.   

Pepsi will be coached by Justin O'Byrne and the team is made up of all Roseburg High School players including Rhett Iverson (IF), Layne Westwang (OF), Trenton Allen (IF), Ryan Carhart (C), Cody Bassett (IF/P), Tristan Guillen (OF), Kyler Wolford (IF), Cody Watkins (IF/P), Andrew Stone (OF), Craig Campbell (OF), Brady Haskett (IF/P), Tanner Shaddy (OF), Cody Walker (OF), Austin Shaddy (C), Jake Backen (IF) and Zach Wyscaver (IF).

Premier Insurance head coach Ryan Savage has 18 players representing six area schools. The team consists of South Umpqua's Colton Pringle, Garrett Rudy, Conner Clack, Justin Bennett, Kyle Westbrooks and Blake Blansett; Glide High School's Tyler Gordon, Zach Rose, Corey Finlay and Kyle Rowe; Sutherlin's Wyatt Jones, Jace Martineau and Wyatt McKnight; Umpqua Valley Christian's Jake Forrester, Perry Tilton and Greg Suhrstedt; Douglas High's Tyler Foster and Oakland's Angus Swan.
