Corvallis Knights sign ex-Roseburg hurler

A former Roseburg High School standout will play semi professional baseball this summer.

Pitcher Brandon Jackson has been added to the roster of the West Coast League's Corvallis Knights.

The Knights signed the 5-foot-11, 193-pound sophomore righthander out of Western Nevada Junior College. The Roseburg native was 10-1 with 1.55 ERA in 19 games this spring with 55 strikeouts in 63 2/3 innings.

Jackson, a first-team Region XVIII all-star in 2012, will pitch next season for Oregon State University in Corvallis.
