Fifth Annual International Cultural Experience features “A Slice of Americana”

International Cultural Experience (I.C.E.) begins this year at 3 p.m., Wildwood Nursery in Winston. This year’s theme is “A Slice of Americana: The Original 13 Colonies,” and many booths will be set up with research and displays by local youth groups to celebrate the thirteen original states. The International Cultural Experience fundraiser and community festival also features food, wine, culture and live entertainment.

The event opens at 3 p.m. with Chowder Contest, open to all who care to participate. Roseburg musician Joe Ross will play Celtic and Old-Time Pioneer music from 4 - 4:45 p.m, including some special “edu-taining” and interactive animal songs just for the kids too. Email rossjoe@hotmail.com

From 5 – 7 p.m., Umpqua Valley Bluegrass Band plays “rowdy, rustic, rawboned” traditional bluegrass and classic country music in the outdoor garden event area.
