Miss Representation Local Screening

The League of Women Voters of Umpqua Valley, Sarah Davis and Phoenix Charter School will host a free community screening of the documentary film, Miss Representation, in the Phoenix Charter School’s Multipurpose room on Tuesday, May 22nd at 6:00pm.
The film explores the underrepresentation of women in positions of power and influence in America, and challenges the media's limited portrayal of what it means to be a powerful woman. The film discusses the degrading images and stories in the media and how they are extremely detrimental to all of society, especially young girls.
The event will provide light refreshments during the film with an open community discussion to follow. Prominent women in our community will be in attendance to give their personal insights to the discussion.
Admission is free. All ages and genders encouraged to attend.
