Umpqua Valley Bluegrass Band at Bandon Cranberry Festival

Bandon's 66th Cranberry Festival is Sept 7-9. From Roseburg, The Umpqua Valley Bluegrass Band will play from 2 - 5 p.m. on Sunday Sept 9 near the Old-Town & Marina. The band plays a traditional style of driving bluegrass with banjo, fiddle, mandolin, guitar, bass & vocals. Members are Liz Crain, Gene Hodson, Scott McAdoo, Joe Ross & Francis Stephenson.

Bandon's Cranberry Festival started in 1946 to showcase the local cranberry industry. Bandon has long been known as the Cranberry Capital of Oregon & new bogs are being added every year. Local products include juice, fresh & dried berries, wine, candies, etc. The parade is held Saturday morning with participants from as far away as Humboldt County. After the parade, enjoy the many vendors who sell their unique wares. Other weekend events inlcude a coronation, cranberry eating contests, photography competition, music, food, unique vendors, local businesses, petting zoo, quilt show, VFW craft/bake sale, Tigers Football & Lions Cranberry Run.
