“Spring into Gardening” with Douglas County OSU Extension Horticulture Program’s annual gardening education event on Saturday, February 22, 2014 from 8:30am-3:30pm at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg. These classes provide home gardeners with information on vital sustainable gardening topics. For a total cost of $20.00, homeowners may attend a total of 4 classes. Topics include vegetable gardening, composting, pruning basics, growing berries and herbs, plus Bob Denman’s discussion of tool topics: “Ergonomics of Tool Use” and “The Feeding and Care of Tools”. If you have ever felt your back suffer from digging in the garden or developed tennis elbow while pruning, this class is your opportunity to learn how to properly use garden tools.
