Toyota car has been destroyed but no airbags even bother to show up.

Accidents occurs every day and every where in the world. Driving is the number one accident that occur everyday and everyone has experienced it. Buying a significant car that provides airbags would be nice right? But trusting a car company isn't the best idea after all.
My sister drives a Toyota Yaris 2007 in a perfect condition for 2 years now, till January 7 2011; around 10pm. As she FULLY stopped her car and going about 5mph; turning left on the yield light, a car unsuspectedly appeared right upon her eyes going straight towards her. BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM! My sister's head instantly hits the steering wheel violently, and the seat belts pulls her fatigue 100 pounds body back, the car is definitely destroyed still NO AIRBAG as appeared. Now, your thinking she isn't dead just got her leg scratched and a bleeding head/nose but an airbag would be HELPFUL at the moment; better than none. She was on the International Blvd (or known as pac hwy) which the speed limits goes around 30-40 mph but what IF it was on a Freeway? The speed limits on the freeway goes around 60-80 mph! Will i loose my sister..., forever? This isn't safe for ANYONE to experience this situation, EVER. Could you trust Toyota for airbag safety?

Thank you for reading, any suggestions what we should do? Suing the Toyota company will be a bit more effective but what else can we do?
