Haylee putting out some cookies and milk for Santa

Haylee's Christmas 2011

On christmas eve, I(dad) was cleaning up the kitchen to get ready to make some cookies with my four year old daughter. During that time, I heard my daughter playing with her guitar and singing. I grabbed my camera and ran to get it on film. She was singing "jingle bells" and attempting to play the guitar along with the song (video). Later on that night, we made sugar and peanut butter cookies for Santa (pic 1). After her bath we put a little plate of cookies and a glass of milk by the tree (pic 2). Then we called the NORAD Santa Tracker Hotline to find out where Santa was at that point and he was in Tennessee, so the "elf" on the phone said to Haylee, "you need to get to bed because Santa will arrive soon." I read her a story, kissed her goodnight and tucked her into bed, and she was fast asleep within 5 min. Christmas day we woke up early with Haylee jumping up and down very excited so my wife and I went downstairs and we all opened presents. We went to my mother-in-laws house for a Christmas brunch and family time. We came home later that afternoon to let Haylee relax a little bit before dinner and I noticed she was snuggled up with her cat Diego, watching a movie. I tried to sneak a picture but she caught me and gave me a big smile (pic 3).
