Venus is now passing in front of the sun - an event that won't be seen for over another century from now. Amateur astronomers all over the world are taking photos through special solar filters with their telescopes to mark the event. This photo was taken in San Diego by amateur astronomer Bob Wetzel using a Celstron G5 telescope and a Nikon D300 digital camera. Sunspots can be seen on the face of the sun as well as Venus.
