Youtlkut Pillars

Autumn In The Forrest

The deer hunting may not be very prosperous but there is never a bad day of hunting with my dad. Hunting with him holds many things besides just looking to put meat in the freezer. Being married to a non-hunter, I have hunted with my dad for several years now. Some years we fill our tags and many we do not, however, the hunt is always fun and adventurous.
This year we have viewed and photographed the Youtlkut Pillars, found an old pioneer cabin and have seen a lot of beautiful scenery around Douglas County. The colors are extraordinary and the potpourri of woods and flowers in the forest this time of the year are delightful. But I think my most valued treasures however are not those things which fade away with the seasons but rather the stories of yesteryear and the special times my dad and I have shared and which will never be pass away. The beautiful scenery is just an added bonus.
