We have seen the "HWY 138 closed" road side bulletin for 4 days now. We passed it again as we were going toward our house Monday night around 6 pm. Halfway up the mountain we saw the plume of smoke/steam and wondered if this was from that fire.

That's not a fire that is Thunderheads building over the East side!!!

Nope, this is a simple cloud. If it were a smoke cloud, there would be a column with the top leading in the direction of the upper-air currents.
