Last Christmas (2007) our chihuahua, sugar, celebrated her first christmas... All caught up in buying gifts, getting the food ready, and everything Christmas gets you stressed out about we had forgotten to but a treat for her. See, we look at our dogs like part of the family... since both chihuahuas are small and very needy. Everyone sat around our living room that christmas opening presents and sharing holiday jokes when we noticed sugar was walking around sniffing the wrapper as if to be in search of something. Finally giving up she had went to her bed and layed down with her head down. To our surprise she began crying, with tears dripping from her eyes. She was like that for a few days, and NOTHING we did could cheer her up. Finally about a week later we had removed our tree, and began returning to normal, everyday life. And only then did she began cheering up. The real break through was when we thought ' Maybe she wanted to have a present, and maybe she felt left out.' So we brought her home a special bone.... and immedately everything went back to normal. Never again would we forget to buy her a christmas gift... because even puppies love to share in the holiday spirit and celebrations!
A christmas FORGOTTEN...
