Micro~Preemie the 1st yr

One yr ago my daughter gave birth at 27 wks to a 2.5 lb baby girl. They call babies under 3 lbs. MicroPreemies! Her pampers was the size of a small mini pad. She was so ittty bitty. The DR's didn';t give her much chance, but she's strong willed, and against all odds, she has made it to 1 yr. She is tube fed 24/7 & still looses weight. The News & Review wrote an article about her last year and listed the benefit account set up for her, but it didn't generate any money at all. We've all struggled to deal with the astronomical medical bills, not to mention the gas costs back and forth to the DRs and Theropists, nor the wear and tear on the car. Somehow, we'll make it, without outside help. All I have is my S.S. check to depend on. If I was to win the lottery I'd buy my daughter a house and a car & send her $1000 a month, but I doubt I'll win the lottery, since I never have a $1 that I feel I can take that kind of a chance with, and if I did, I'd save up $20 at a time and give it to my daughter, so I'd know she had gas money at least.

i was adopted when i was 8, i am now 21. i have some back problems and short term memory problems but that is only because of being shaken. i am 21 years old now, and perfectly healthy. i hope everything works out for her.

I was born at 2 pounds 8 ounces. i was failing to thrive and at five months old was severely shaken (shaken baby syndrome) so i survive my birth, i only survived being shaken thanks to my then foster family(which is now the only one i consider family
