AMARILLO, Texas – American Quarter Horse exhibitor Kelli Cartwright of Winston, Oregon will be competing in the Ford American Quarter Horse Youth Association World Championship Show in Oklahoma City, July 31 – August 8.
Cartwright will be among nearly 2,000 youths, ages 18 & under, from the United States, Canada and other countries participating in the show. She will compete with her American Quarter Horse Cattins Lil Cracker, a 14-year-old Sorrel mare in Barrel Racing, Stake Race, and Pole Bending.
The Ford AQHYA World Championship Show is an invitational event that showcases top American Quarter Horse Youth exhibitors, so the competition promises to be intense and exciting. Youth will compete for 33 world championship titles, as well as prizes from American Quarter Horse Association sponsors. Exhibitors must have earned a predetermined number of points at American Quarter Horse Association-approved shows between May 1, 2008 and April 30, 2009 or be one of four entries in each event selected to represent each affiliate American Quarter Horse Youth association.

Cartwright is the 15-year-old daughter of Mary Cartwright and is a freshman at Douglas High School.
